Ok I finnally figured out how to access this blog again. I ran into a problem when I started a new blog under a different email address. Anyway now that I have figured this out I hopefully will be able to keep this one updated as well. I also had forgotten my password. But that issue has also been solved.

Just an average day today. My alarm went off at the usual time. 4:00 am. Oh I was so very tired. But life goes on. I got up and headed off to work at around 5:00 am. I am an attendant on a Fairfax County School Bus. I was a driver for 11 years. Both in special ed and regular ed. I stepped down to an attendant January 2010. I have really been enjoying the change. I am not assigned to any particular bus run so I ride any bus that may need an attendant for the day. This morning everybody came to work so I just did standby for my morning hours.

Ok so the first paragraph was a big zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz fest. But like I said it is just an average day.

This evening I have Voices of Praise rehearsal and Becky has AWANA this evening. We hope to be home in time to watch American Idols elimination show this week.

Well... Here it is April 23, 2010. Almost two years since I posted anything to this blog... I am terribly sorry to be so neglectful. There is no excuse. So let me update just a bit. My grandson Andrew is now 17 months old. I will post a picture soon.

we have been busy at the dentist office as well. It had been over three years since either Becky or myself had been to see the dentist. Now we are having to play catch up and it looks like there will be braces for Becky in the future. I guess maybe we did fall off the face of the planet....

We did manage to survive the Blizzard of 2010. Here are some pictures...

Yesterday Becky, Christine, Baby Andrew and I went to Stafford VA to meet up with my family for a Black Friday Brunch. ThoseThanksgiving Pancakes were delicious. Every one had a good time and got to hold Baby Andrew. He certainly didn't lack for any loving yesterday.

Greetings all. I see it has been many many months since I have posted anything. Do not let this suggest that I have not been busy. I worked the summer driving bus for our church summer camp program. Spent alot of day s at the pool. I also had a brother get married in July. It was a wonderful time. And as always I am driving school bus for the county this school year. But the best news of all is...... (drum roll)..... I am now a "granny" . In the next few posts I will have pictures of the baby. Hope everyone has had a blessed summer and is going to have a blessed holiday season to come.

I really like this card. I love the blues and browns. It was a very easy card to make. No stamping at all except the background on the cream paper.

I made these cards yesterday. Friday March 21. I was at my sisters house in Stafford. We have to stamp when we get together.

I really like this card. Sorry about the blur. It scanned that way because of the pearl beads.

Ok since I posted last alot has happened. In December I received a promotion. I am now a floater 2 bus driver. This means I will be a permanent sub driver. I moved from Special Ed to a General Ed area bus driver. It has proven to be a very good move on my part. I like the change alot. Not to mention the raise that goes along with it. The only bad part of it is I have to be out of the house by 4:45 am and ready to go pick up children by 5:45 am. But I will adjust.

Trash Shopping

About 4 weeks ago I found that one of my neighbors had thrown out a shelf that had several different compartments of different sizes. It was perfect for holding my stamps and papers and such. So I got my husband to help me retrieve it. I have it in my craft area and it is working nicely. Freed up alot of space for my other activity storage needs. I was a happy camper.

Last Friday I went to Stafford to Greta's house for stamp camp. Here are some cards we made there. I really like this one. It was very easy to do and looks so inviting.

This one was very fun. You can never have to many bags. Another fun thing to do with your square and circle punches.

I really like this background stamp and it was fun to use all the brads.

I think this one is my favorite of the evening. I like the shadow image of the cross. I also like the embossed leaves on the cross. HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!

This one is also one of my favorites. You can't see it but there is glitter on the snowmans hat band and fuzzy ball on top. There is also a secret snowman surprise in the inside of this card. I just LOVE snow.

This was one of my favorite cards. As I like reindeer. In the original card the first reindeers nose wasn't red. I added that to my card. We thought this would be a nice mans card.

Here is one card we made. I love snow flakes. I really like this card. It is suppose to be on a 6X6 white card stock. But my neice (who is 4) managed to get my 6X12 piece of cardstock and use it to practice writing her name. Her dad was helping her. SHe was doing a fine job.

Hello, Its been quite awhile since I posted anything. I guess life just took a fast ride for a while. I have been quite busy with work. Doing alot of overtime. That should stop soon as my bus runs have been adjusted. I also applied for a new bus driving position. I will post if I get it or not. I haven't been called for an interview yet. Well its been awhile since I posted. Over 4 weeks. I sure have been busy tho. My step daughter got married. It was a great wedding. when I get some pictures I will post them. School has also started so I have been busy with bus routes and changes and gettin used to new students as well as writing and rewriting my Lefts and Rights (driving directions for my route).

So I thought I would just stop by here a moment and fill y'all in. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

I am really hoping for some of this snowy weather. However today October 9, 2007 it was unseasonably warm. We had a high of 91 degrees. Sweltering if ya ask me. It was more like this today . So I guess I will just keep on dreaming.

I went to a stamp camp at Gretas house this weekend. I will post pictures of what we did in a couple of days as soon as I get time to scan them and up load them.

This is Kirstins shoebox card. I love the dill. You cant see it very well but the tips of the dill have been dotted with gel pen. As always Kirstin did a fabulous job.

Anna's shoebox card... I really like the geometric design. i added the stickles to it.

This is a card by Nancy... I like the embossing we did on the little green layer.. THis was a fun card to do. I also like the large eyelets we used itn the center of the flowers.

This is the card designed by Gayla. I love how we masked the trees and stippled the sky and the grass. I did add some glitter paint to the trees. You cant see it very well tho.

Ok... I have finnally done it.... I went and got a tattoo on my right ankle last Wednesday... Some people didn't actually think I would do it. I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for many years. So I finnally decided just to go do it.... DH gave me money for anniversary present and said go ahead and get it done... so here is the picture of the tattoo on my right ankle...Actually is it between my ankle and mid calf. Just above a scar I have from breaking my ankle 27 years ago.

I went to my yearly safety and security pyramid meeting today. I got the bus runs that I requested. Altho... I don't have my second bell run yet. I know it is at the school I want but I hope it is the children I asked for. We shall see. There was alot of rearranging of supervisors so it may take abit of time to get things completed. from visiting in Dolgeville NY. Becky spent the majority of the time in Utica with her cousins. She had a great time. She is growing up so fast.

I did alot of stamping. I still could find time to stamp some more... I had a wonderful time at the gathering at Dolgeville Christian Fellowship. It was a nice time of stamping. (Altho I was a mite dissappointed that the coffee shop wasn't open when we went to get coffee) Kirstin maybe as time passes we will be able to visit it again.

I had an extreemely enjoyable time at Gaylas stamping away the day also... and that applesauce cake she made was absolutely delicious. YUMMM Could always have more of that. I hope Gayla knows that the next time I come to NY I am coming to her house for a visit.....

I also went to a stamp camp at Kirstins house. Now I had to go and order the baroque motif stamp set. I absolutely love the cards we made with them... I will upload some cards when I get them loaded onto my computer....

I also got to drive the bus for Imagination Coach Lines. (See link for Imagination Coach Lines in right hand column.) What a nice ride.... I hope I can drive it again soon. So much nicer that the school bus I drive...Picture to soon follow...

Well it is back to work again tomorrow. I have a manditory safety meeting I must attend for Fairax County transportation. I will also be given my route assignments for the 2007-2008 school year... I hope I get the attendant and routes I requested...

At Home In NY

Well... We (Becky and I) have been here in Dolgeville NY area for about 6 days. The ride up was rather nicely uneventful. Weather was nice and not alot of annoying construction through Pennsylvania.

We spent the first few days in Utica. Staying with Anna and the with Kirstin. Becky is having a great time with her cousins.

Our next adventure is a stamp gathering this Saturday at Dolgeville Christian Fellowships hall. One can never have enough stamping....

In a couple of hours I will be taking Becky back into Utica to spend some more time with her cousins. She will have a much more fun time with them then out here with the adults.

Well... I will try to check in again later. My computer savy sister Kirstin is going to help me do some rearranging and updating of my blog. So see ya then.

This card is the one I am doing for our shoebox project... It is using "Delight in Life" stamp set. Vintage Violet card stock and ink and natural ivory card stock. It also has just a touch of glitter on the center of one flower.

This was the card front I originally started making for the CNY gathering. It was very tedious to make. So I only made a few and went on the the previously posted card. The gold cord lacing is what took sooooooo long. So I will bring the few I made in case someone would like one.

Card front for CYN Gathering

This card front was made today. The colors don't look exactly like the do in real life. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the background. I used the rock and roll technique to do the flower. I used "Looks Like Spring" and "Wonderful Words" stamp set. I used the matching punch to punch out the very central flower. I fastened them together with a bronze brad. I also outlined the outer edges of the larger flower with multicolored very fine glitter. .

ATC for CNY Gathering

Here is what I came up with for the ATC for the CNY Gathering this month... I have never done an ATC before. So I hope it is right.

I used the In Full Bloom stamp set, Basic Black ink, used the aqua painter and pumpkin ink, chocolate chip ink, real thyme ink. Then when it was all dry I embossed the whole image with irredescent Ice. Then I tied some twine around the paper with the image. I layered it on real thyme and pumpkin spice card stock. It sparkles way more than it shows in the picture...

More Stamp Camp Projects

This is a small purse of photo pocket we made. It was very easy to do. I will more than likely make more of these. Makes a cute gift for anyone. We used the sample paper pack.

The butterfly on this card is actually 3D. And it does have dazzling diamonds on the wings. It isn't showing up very well in this scan. I do like the designer paper we used and I like the soft muted colors

I love the way we used the words to make the butterfly trail. I also used the crop-a-dile for hole punching. I really need to invest in one of those items. Looks like I will have to go to Michaels to shop...oh and the butterfly on this is also 3D and has dazzling diamonds on the wings. My scanner isn't picking that up real well.

Stamp Camp Yesterday Evening

Yesterday evening DD and I went to my sisters in Stafford for a stamp camp. Here are some of the cards we made. It was alot of fun. I was very tired tho. We got home around 12:30 am. Fortunately we didn't have to have alarms this morning so we were able to sleep in a bit.

I think this one is my favorite of all the cards we did last night. I don't remember all the stamp names or colors and such we used. I really was very tired. It was probably lucky I made it home without falling asleep driving. But I did and thats all that matters.

Well I got a bit creative tonight before dinner. Today during the break between bus runs I went to Dollar Tree. I got three small pillar candles. I decided to try my hand at stamping candles. I have tried it before. But this time it seemed to click. So here is what I came up with. Nothing real special but I am pleased with the results. The pictures are not the best as I took them with my cell phone.

This candle is done with a flag stamp I got at a yard sale. I stamped on the tissue paper with basic black ink and colored it in with markers. I didn't embellish it any further. I thought it looked nice just as it was. The only thing I would add if I had one is a star brad to the star.

This is stamped with the Looks Like Spring set. Stamped in Orchid Opulance. Then I added a square rhinestone brad (purchased from Michaels) to the center of the Flower

This one is the flower from the Pocket Full of Fun stamp set. I stamped three flowers in classic black and colored them in with markers. Then after melting them into the candle I added multicolored flower brads. These were purchased from Micheals.

WOW!!! it has been a month since I last posted anything. Well here I am. I have returned. I am very tired tho. Yesterday was a very busy very fun day. Becky and I went to meet friends and family at IKEA in Conshohocken (i think thats how you spell it) Pennsylvania. We shopped for a couple of hours then we went off to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. OMW!!! The burger I had was GINORMAS!!!!! Big doesn't even begin to describe this burger. It was soooooo very delicious. Not to mention the mound of french fries they had on the plate. And I liked the french fries. They were crispy but not at all greasy. I didn't finish my lunch tho. I couldn't even begin to eat it all. In fact I didn't even have room for any cheesecake for dessert. Here is a picture of the burger. Also one of me holding up the burger. It is almost bigger than my head.

It was a very fun day tho. Becky and I got home around 12:30 am. Becky is still in bed. She is very tired. She got to see some her cousins she hadn't seen in a very long time. She was sooo excited.

Maybe we can do a trip like this again sometime. What fun that would be.

Boy People Pillow

Well if y'all remember I posted a girl people pillow that I made last weekend. Well here is the companion boy people pillow. It is done with the correct color. I had to go buy the buff colored yarn for the doll. I did use cammo colored varigated yarn for the pants. I think it turned out very cute.

The little girl next door just loved the girl people pillow. She named it Becky because my daughter Becky gave it too her. And I understand from her dad that she wouldn't go to bed last night until she had her Becky doll with her. She carries it around calling Becky Becky Becky!!!

The magazine I got the patterns from is Crochet World. The August 2006 issue. I don't know if the pattern is available on their website or not. Their site is www.crochet-world.com. It is in the August 2006 issue on page 26.

A very good productive day

It was a very good productive day today. We made our trip to "Everything But Water" the bathing suit store my step daughter Christine works at. My daughter Becky needed a new swim suit. HOLY BANK ROBBERY BATMAN!!! THE PRICES IN HERE ARE OUTRAGES. But the suits sure were cute. We were able to get a top and a pair of flip flops. She had a bottom at home that matched the top quite well.

Then this evening Becky went to her second night of VBS. She is taking a friend with her. They sure do have alot of fun. VBS lasts thru this Friday. Then on Saturday Becky is taking a trip with another friend. They are going to Florida for a week. Becky sure does have a busy summer. But that is a good thing.

People Pillow

This is my project for the past two days. I needed to use up some yarn scraps. I found this pattern in one of my crochet magazines. Its called People Pillow. It is very cute. I will be giving it to my neighbors 1 1/2 year old daughter. It called for a buff colored yarn. I didn't have any so i just used white. I did however go and buy some buff colored yarn and will make the boy doll next. He has shorts on and I have some cammo colored yarn for the shorts. I guess it didn't matter if I used some yarn scraps if i ended up going out and buying more yarn. It is just a vicious cycle. ROFL

Thursdays Project

Yesterday, Thursday June 21 I went to my sister Gretas house in Stafford. We decided to make the project out of this weeks Weekly Inkling. It was the Jacobs ladder technique. It was alot of fun. Here are some pictures. The close up is a scanned picture and the opened up picture is very bad (so sorry) it was taken from my camera phone so it is very poor quality.

I used 12 4x4 coasters. SU designer paper (i think it was called Rebecca) close to cocoa card stock, white cardstock, Polkadots and Paisley stamp set. GG ribbon. It is actually a pink ribbon but looks white. Also some sheer pink ribbon for the inside. I used Regal Rose, Pixie Pink, Old Olive and Black ink. And Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I was very pleased with how it turned out

This is an African Crowned Crane. This picture doesn't do him justice. He is a very pretty bird.

These are various different types of Lemurs. They were very cute. They were very playful. But all I could think about when I saw them was the MADAGASCAR movie and the lemurs singing and dancing.." I like to move it move it...."

These are different types of Macaques. At least I think thats what the sign said. Any way they were fun to watch . The smaller ones in the long narrow picture were running all around thier cage and playing with each other. There were multiple swings and climbing devices for them. They seemed to like showing off for everyone.

Trip to Catoctin Zoo

Last Tuesday I drove a fieldtrip for our churches summer camp. We went to Catoctin Zoo in Maryland. Here are some pictures of the animals we saw there. I will try to describe them the best I can. I am not sure I know the names of all of them. But here goes.

This is a baby goose. There were many geese families just wandering around. The next picture is a goose that kept following Becky because she was carrying a cup of animal food. I guess he was hungry... Becky didnt like it. But until she was out of food the goose kept after her.

I know it has been a week since I posted anything. So today I posted a new word of the day.

I also have had quite a busy day. I turned on the television this morning to do some mindless television watching and low and behold we didn't have any video coming through on tv. We checked with the cable and there was nothing wrong. We tried putting in a DVD and had sound but no video. SO we concluded our television was broken. So we were planning on going out today anyway to get Jim his fathers day present. So we added buying a television to our list. BOY ARE THOSE THINGS EXPENSIVE!!!

We also ended up getting Jim a golf bag cart and a golf ball retriever. I had no Idea how to shop for golf equipment so I had him show me what he wanted. We will be going out to dinner tomorrow and I will give him a card then.

Here are the cards I made for Fathers Day!

This card was made for Jims Dad for fathers day. It is done using more mustard, really rust and ivory card stock. All About U stamp set and the magic mesh. I used stampin up fibers and unknown brads. Inside is HAPPY FATHERS DAY
This card is for my husband Jim. I love this stamp set. I know its not a summer card but my husband loves to fish so I felt it was appropriate. I used buckaroo blue and ivory card stock. buckaroo blue ink. Black magic mesh. And the fishing rod is made out of the elastic band that held a new pair of shoes together. Yes Kirstin I can stamp that!!! I hand wrote the sentiment on the outside of the card. I know it looks kind of simple but I was pleased with how it turned out.

On a happier note. My DH Jim told me this morning that I should go do something nice for myself tonight after work. He dook DD and a friend up to the pool and ordered pizza for them. Soooo....

Earlier today while students were being picked up for school this morning, A young girl riding a bicycle was struck by a school bus. Apparently the girl dashed out in front of the bus. I believe she was about 8 years old. They have been investigating it and seem to have determined that the bus driver was not at fault. Well at fault or not if I were that driver it would just plain freak me out. I don't know if I could get back on the bus again.

It must have gotten stuck out in todays rainstorm. I thought the song talked about rainy days on Mondays, not Sundays. Oh well... life goes on.

We had a wonderful picnic with our church music ministry today. We did have a lot of rain but that didn't hinder our joyful hearts. It was a great time. We had a pavillion with a nice hooded grill in it. So we grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and other forms of meat. And oh the desserts. And not to mention all the salads and other food. I didn't come away hungry. One of my friends is moving from here in Northern Virginia to close to Brandson Missouri. I will miss her very much. So we had a small card and going away gift for her at the picnic.

Hello, I am back from the jewelry party. I was able to control my spending. I got a pair of silver threader earrings and Becky got a pair of gold threader earrings. I also ordered some earrings from my stepdaughters party. So not too much money was spent.

My AVON order finally arrived. Four boxes waiting at my door when i got home from the party. The order was delayed because of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday. I had a couple of unhappy customers.

Well... here is it Saturday morning. I am off to a Premier Jewelry party. I was also invited to a Lia Sophia Jewelry party today too. I however will not be driving to Petersburg today. I do love jewelry parties tho.

I just brushed Becky's hair... OMW... it is sooooo thick. We are going to go have it thinned a bit. It is hard to get even a large size pony tail holder in. But we won't get it cut short. I think I would be in deep trouble with Becky if I got her hair cut short.

Purses in Ghana

I see it has been many many days since I posted anything. I have been so busy I see myself coming and going. The end of the school year is just around the corner. Ony two weeks left. Then I get a short break and will start driving for summer school July 9. Which happens to be the day after my birthday. What a great birthday present HUH??? By the way... I will be 46.

If you recall some time back about a month ago I sent some purses to Ghana for girls at an orphanage... Here are a few pictures of the girls with their purses... Apparently some of the girls had never had a purse before and were quite unaware of what to do with them. But they soon figured it out... And all girls love purses!!! The boys in the picture are holding t-shirts. Also included is a picture of a spider. My dad said that was his guard spider. Not my idea of guard duty if you ask me.

My husband just got home... He brought me an ice cream treat... Yummmmmm. It is a chocolate chip ice cream cookie.

I almost forgot the best thing of all. I made an appointment for my day at the spa. It is July 2. I will be getting an aroma therapy massage (80 mins) a hot stone spa pedicure and a european deep cleaning facial... Whoohoooo I can hardly wait...
